Northflare Energy stakeholder engagement analysis
Northflare Energy’s activities include the sourcing, aggregation, and trading of wood pellets and other biomass products; transportation and physical handling of traded products at multiple storage sites; procurement of fibre in the US Southeast; and the production of wood pellets at its own certified biomass facilities.
The storage of biomass traded by Northflare Energy happens in ports, in industrial zones and in agricultural or rural areas. Northflare Energy has carefully considered potential negative impacts of our normal transport and storage activities and has found that these do not have any significant impact on stakeholders such as other businesses or households in the vicinity of the storage facilities. Northflare Energy will carefully consider impacts on stakeholders in any unusual event that could affect vicinity stakeholders, e.g. storm, fire, flooding etc.
Each Northflare Energy pellet production plant is certified and completes Supply Base Reports detailing sourcing practices and relevant business activities.
Fibre sourcing is conducted in accordance with our Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing Policy.
